Job Overview

Mike has a great sense of humour and enjoys various hobbies such as gardening, treasure hunting, listening to music, PC games, and watching a variety of films and 80's cartoons. Mike is autistic with a learning disability and needs patient, positive and proactive people supporting him so that he lives a fulfilled life, continuing with his hobbies and building up his confidence with trying new things. Mike is wanting a driver in the team who wouldn't mind using their own car, so that he can venture to places not accessible by public transport.

Essential for this role: Driver who is willing to use own car

Contract: Casual/zero hours

Mike needs support with budgeting, pet care, cooking, maintaining his home, building relationships, and looking after his health and wellbeing. The team have found creative and unique ways of helping his understanding such as creating a bespoke newspaper that has helped Mike develop, think more about his health, and try new things.

We are looking for the right person to join the team and support Mike to live a fulfilled life. The team are working towards becoming self-directed so there is an element of leadership required within this role and a desire to grow. Shifts are typically 9am-9pm and the rota is done in advance. We need someone who can be flexible with shifts and help on weekends.

Ideally you will:

  • Be a great communicator for Mike
  • Be forward thinking, willing to try new ideas and approaches
